Outfit of The Day- 29/12/13

There are 2 days left of 2013, whatt?!! This is my second last post this year (I think), crazy!!
As it's my second last post of 2013, I thought I'd do a post I've never done before, an outfit of the day post. I see a lot of bloggers do these sorts of posts and I thought it's about time you all saw the blogger behind the screen;). This will be a very short post but tomorrow/Tuesday's post is quite long so it'll hopefully make up for it.

I was having a pretty lazy day today, and I didn't do anything too exciting and by that I mean I read all day, so I just wore some of my favourite casual, comfy clothes.

Top; New Look
Cardigan; New Look
Jeans; Fat Face
Boots; New Look

This is one of my favourite outfits to wear as it's very comfortable and can be dressed up for dinner etc with some sparkly jewellery or heels.

I hope you enjoyed seeing what I wore today and if you'd like more 'OOTD's' then be sure to let me know in the comments.

Christmas Chatter

Photo from Tumblr, edited myself though.
I'm sat watching The Grinch and drinking hot chocolate (feeling festive), and I just wanted to put up a post to say thank you to you all.
So before I 'sign off' for the next few days, I'd like to send out a huge thank you to everyone who has read, commented and followed my blog in these past 3 months. Last night, I reached 150 (now 157) followers on Bloglovin'! Incredible!! If you add all the followers I have on GFC and Bloglovin' it means I have 221 followers. Words can't describe how happy this makes me! Such an amazing early Christmas 'present'. I never imagined that one person would like my blog, let alone 200 odd!! To every single one of you reading this; I hope you all have the best Christmas' ever, and you are all spoiled because you all deserve it! Eat lots of food, and enjoy the time with your families. I know that I'll certainly eat too many Terry's Chocolate Oranges. I'll see you all again on the 28th with a shiny new post but until then, MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Boots Beauty Advent Calendar- The Final Day

So the time has come where I've reached the end of my Boots Beauty Advent Calendar. Today's gift was the best gift out of the whole calendar, and it was the best way to finish the calendar. Being the absolute potato that I am, I completely forgot to photograph the product inside the door and I've now recycled the calendar so I hope you can all forgive me, it is Christmas tomorrow after all.

Today's gift was a full size 17 Blow Out Mascara. I've actually wanted to try this mascara for ages as it sounds really good, and after trying it out today I'm REALLY impressed! My eyelashes look so much more voluminous and long, it's fab!

This mascara promises 12x more volume, now I wouldn't say it gives you 12x more, I'd say more 4x. But it's impressive all the same!

The brush is quite large, but it's very easy to work with and it doesn't clump your lashes together.

Along with the mascara, there was a voucher for triple points when you buy a product from the advent calendar. I think I'll be purchasing a few things out of it, and who doesn't love triple points??

Overall I've been really impressed with this advent calendar and it was well worth the £30. Next year however, I will be buying a different beauty advent calendar, just so I can have something a bit different.

Boots Beauty Advent Calendar- Days 22 & 23

So I have one more door left in my advent calendar, Christmas is almost upon us. Day's 22 and 23 were both really good products that I was very happy with.

Yesterdays gift was one of my favourites I've received so far. If you read my last post then you'll know what it was, if not, continue reading to find out. And even if you did read it, continue reading to find out what day 23 was;).

Any guesses??

Yesterday's gift was a mini Nails Inc polish in 'Porchester Square'. This is a lovely muted mushroom colour that I really love. I spoke about it in yesterday's post so if you want to read my full thoughts on it click here.

It's a 4ml size bottle but I have a feeling that the full size may be mine very soon as I love this colour so much.

Today's gift was a nice surprise and I'm excited to try it out and see how it works.

It's a big door.. so what could it be??

Today's gift was a mini Umberto Giannini Backcomb in a Bottle. The idea of this is that it gives your hair that backcombed effect without you having to actually backcomb your hair and damage it. I haven't tried it yet but I've sprayed it and I'm really not keen on the smell, but I won't let that put me off too much. This can also be used to give your hair more volume, not that I need anymore;).

I'm excited to try this product and I cannot wait for tomorrows door as it's the 'biggie' and it's sure to have something impressive behind it.

Let it Snow // Nail Tutorial

It's almost Christmas guys, 3 sleeps!!! This morning I was sat doing nothing, as per usual, when I realised that I hadn't done my nails for Christmas Day. I then went into major panic mode and started searching through my nail polish collection for colours I could use. I then realised that I had 2 new nail colours from my Boots Beauty Advent Calendar that would go perfectly together. There isn't actually snow painted on my nails but one of the nail polishes I used created the effect of snow. Hopefully some of you will get inspiration from this post and possibly re-create the look.

First and foremost I used my 6 step nail block from Nspa.

I got this last year from Asda and I'm unable to find it on the website but you can get these from Boots for about £1.99. I always use this as it preps the nails really well and helps make a nice smooth base for nail polish.

Once I've prepped my nails, I apply a base coat to help the nail polish last longer and to prevent my nails from getting stained.

I used my Sally Hansen Maximum Growth polish as a base coat because even though my nails are relatively long at the moment, they're still growing and this helps speed up the process. I really love this product and I would highly recommend it to any nail biters/anyone with weak nails.

After I applied my base coat, I went on to apply the main colour. The colour I chose to use was Nails Inc 'Porchester Square' which is a light muted mushroom shade. I received it today in my Boots Beauty Advent Calendar and I'm chuffed. I love this shade so much, I think it just looks so classy and grown up and it applies really well.

This is genuinely one of the nicest nail polishes I own. It's just such a lovely colour and I'd highly recommend this sort of colour to everyone! Nails Inc polishes are fairly pricey, so if you're looking for a similar one, Essie Merino is quite similar, it's just a shade or two darker.

Once my main colour had dried, I went on to apply a glitter top coat. The top coat I used was Mavala's nail polish in '213 Pure Diamond'. This is a lovely holographic glitter nail polish that reminds me of snow, and it inspired the name for this tutorial.

I'm aware that I missed a spot but lets just look past that and admire the beauty;). On top of 'Porchester Square' it looks so pretty. I love the effect it creates and it goes on so smoothly and doesn't leave your nails bumpy like some glitter polishes do *cough* Rimmel *cough*.

And here is the finished look;

I hope you enjoyed this post as it was something different for me to write and it was completely different to anything I've posted on my blog before. If any of you re-create this look or would like to see more nail tutorials, please let me know in the comments.

The 'Get To Know Me' Tag

Photo from Tumblr, I edited it myself though.

It's almost Christmas, so I thought I'd treat you all with a tag post. I already did a '25 Facts About Me' post about 2 months ago, but I was tagged to do this by Olivia (livslittlespace.blogspot.co.uk) a few weeks ago.

1)  Do you have a middle name?

Indeed I do, my middle name is Elizabeth.

2) What is your favourite subject at school?

Frenchhh.

3) What is your favourite drink?

Peach iced tea, definitely!

Well as it's almost Christmas my favourite song at the moment is 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' by Mariah Carey. It's my all time favourite Christmas song.

5) What do you want to name your children?

I honestly have absolutely no idea. I love the name Darcy though, it's such a pretty name.

6) Do you participate in any sports?

I cannot choose just one book because all the Harry Potter books are my favourites, nothing can ever beat them.

I have 2, purple and orange.

Hmmm, sort of. I love learning but I don't really like school itself, if that makes any sense at all.

19) Who is your favourite YouTuber?

I love so so so many, but my number one favourite has to be Zoella. She's the first YouTuber I ever watched and she is the one who got me addicted to YouTube and also the one (along with Louise) that got me addicted to blogging, which has now lead to me actually having my own blog. Another one of my absolute favourites is VelvetGh0st! I've been subscribed to her since she had 500 subs and I just love her so much asdfghjkl.

Boots Beauty Advent Calendar- Days 20 & 21

As I'm typing this, it's 4 days until Christmas, crazy!! It feels like it wasn't so long ago that we were all excited because it was 4 weeks until Christmas!

Yesterday's gift was a really, really nice gift and I was delighted to find it behind the door.

Hmmm, any ideas??

Yesterday's gift was a Mavala nail polish in '213 Pure Diamond' which is a gorgeous holographic glitter, which can be used as a top coat or on it's own.

I have no other nail polishes in my collection that are like this and I'm so happy to have got it. I'm sure that I'll get a lot of use out of it this festive season, it may even be part of my Christmas nails.. who knows??

 Any guesses?

Today's gift was a full size (I think) Botanics Heat Protection Shine Serum. This is a serum that is supposed to make your hair look healthy and shiny whilst controlling frizz, which has really excited me as having naturally curly hair=frizz. I will literally do anything to get rid of the frizz.

You only get 30ml of product in the tub, but one or two pumps I think would be sufficient enough for my whole head.

The serum just looks like any other serum but it smells really floral/fruity, really similar to my Aussie Dual Personality Serum. I'm excited to try this out and see if it does as it claims!
