Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick / Olé Flamingo

I've done it. I've gone and jumped onto the blogger bandwagon and I've bought a Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick. I couldn't resist. It was sat on the stand with the '£3 off' sign screaming at me. I had a gift card, and it happened. This little tube of bright pink-ness was on it's way home with me. And I have no regrets.

Before I even begin reviewing this product can we just take a moment and admire the packaging? How can it look cute, yet sleek and high end at the same time? Bourjois how do you do it?

The shade I picked up was '05 Olé Flamingo' which is a bright, bright, bright pink. Yes I know, my description skills are crap, but it is what it is. A bright, bright, bright pink. And being the 'I'm going to wear the brightest coloured lipsticks I can find because I do not care what people think' person I am, this shade is right up my street.

The above swatch is just one coat. The pigmentation is insane.

The Rouge Edition Velvets have a doe foot applicator which makes them really easy to apply, and if you know me, I adore doe foot applicators so extra brownie points from me. In terms of application, these apply like an absolute dream. It honestly feels as though you're applying velvet to your lips, and once it's on your lips, you wouldn't know it's there. Bourjois promise 24hr lasting power but who actually wears lipstick for 24 hours? Let's be real now. However, I wore this the other day for around 13 hours and by the end of the day there was only slight fading in the centre of my lips. Impressed doesn't even cover it.

I honestly could not recommend this product enough and if you're not so into bright colours, there are some more neutral shades in the range too, which I may also have to try. I have the urge to buy every single shade in the range, but I know for a fact that my purse will not enjoy that. Sigh. But I'll definitely be picking up more shades sometime soon. Not that I actually need more lipsticks.

I don't know how long this deal is on for but the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvets are currently £5.99 in Superdrug so I'd suggest running (or speed walking, whichever you prefer) to your nearest Superdrug and grabbing one before the deal ends. You won't regret it.

Kiko and Duty Free Haul

So I'm home, and back to normality. I'm not sure how I feel about this, I'm having Italy withdrawals and it's not good. School has been absolutely crazy and right now I want nothing more than to go back to Milan and relax. Gah.

Anyhow, as you can probably all tell, I did a little bit of shopping in Kiko and in Duty Free (goodness what a wonderful place it is), and as I know you all love a haul, I'm sharing with you what I bought, which surprisingly wasn't that much.

Kiko

I made a wishlist of things that I really wanted from Kiko, but after going into stores and swatching them, they just didn't appeal to me anymore. Anyone else ever find that once you see a product in the flesh it doesn't seem so great anymore? Anyhow, my wishlist scuppered, I had a mass swatching spree and I came away with 3 items. Yes, only 3. Feel free to let out gasps of horror. I left a Kiko store with 3 items.

The first things I picked up were 2 of their single eyeshadows in shade '119' and '133'.

Shade 119 is a shimmery, bronzey brown with a slight green tone to it. It's super pigmented and when I wore this the other day, I noticed that the greens in my eyes really stood out. Ahh, what a beautiful eyeshadow.

Shade 133 is a shimmery brick reddy brown colour and I am in love. There I said it. I am in love, not with a boy, with an eyeshadow. It is INSANELY pigmented, I honestly could not believe how pigmented it was when I tried it. Another reason I picked this up was because I don't own any eyeshadows that have a reddy colour to them and I thought I should step out of my comfort zone and get it, and after the successful swatch, I wasn't exactly going to leave it there was I?

My last item I picked up from Kiko was a 'Multi-Effect Nail Lacquer'. There was a whole stand of these for €1 each and I loved the look of 'Shade 3' so it pottered to the till with me. Well not literally because it doesn't have legs, but you get my jist.

Duty Free

I made a wishlist for duty free, but when I arrived, nothing on my wishlist was there *sigh*. But thankfully there were other fabulous deals that lured me in and emptied my purse, sort of.

Firstly I went into Cath Kidston. It's one of those shops that is just me. I was so tempted to buy everything in sight but my birthday is soon, so I shall wait until then.

The only item I picked up was this makeup bag which has quite possibly the cutest patchwork pattern ever. It's the perfect size for all of my makeup and brushes and it was only £6.50. Absolute bargain in my eyes.

On the plane I made a pretty big splurge and bought 9 lipsticks. Yes, you heard me correctly, 9 lipsticks.

The 9 lipsticks I got were part of the Revlon Lip Cube and they are the Super Lustrous range. I am doing a full review of this lip cube in the very near future so I won't be going into too much detail but I love all the colours, apart from one. Why must that one have been in there? There are 7 pearl finishes and 2 creme finishes and I'm loving them all so far, apart from 2. But I can find another use for them so the panic is over. It was £38 but considering the lipsticks are almost £8 each it is a very big saving, and a girl can never have too many lipsticks, right?

Kiko Wishlist

As you read this, I'm currently sat in Italy, I bet you're all jealous. I've probably already raided Kiko by the time you've read this, but I thought I would share with you all my Kiko wishlist. Kiko is a brand that I'm sort of familiar with as last year in France I picked up a few lip products. Safe to say, my purse will be sobbing once I've left the shop(s).

1-Kiko Unlimited Stylo

I've been eyeing these lipsticks up on the website for quite a while now and I now have an excuse to get one. They're said to be 'transfer resistant', 'highly pigmented' and 'semi matte' which is basically all I look for in a lipstick. And look how pretty the packaging is.

2- Kiko Colour Shock long lasting eyeshadow

I'm desperate to get my hands on one of these in the shade 'Snappy Brass' as Lily Pebbles was talking about it in a video once and it looked beautiful, and I love cream eyeshadows. I'm obviously not going to get the colour pictured but I'm determined to get the brass shade.

3- Kiko Loose Pigment Eyeshadow

I guess you could say that these are exact dupes for the MAC pigments. The packaging is almost identical and I'm sure the formula is too. Yet again I do not wish to buy the colour pictured but I really want the shade 'Taupe' which is a very close dupe of MAC's 'Tan' pigment, go have a little peek at the swatches on Google to see what I mean.

4- Kiko Radiant Touch Creamy Highlighting Stick

I love the idea of cream highlighters, and after seeing Lily Pebbles talk about these on her blog (can you tell I love her blog and her videos?), I would love to have one in my possession very soon.

If any of you have tried any of these products in this post, please let me know what you think of them as even if I've already bought them, I'd still love to know your thoughts! Oh the stresses of scheduled posts. I'll be back on Sunday but until the, ciao.

World Duty Free Wishlist

For a lot of you, this is probably the smallest wishlist you've ever seen. With just over 3 weeks until I jet off to Italy for a week in the sunshine (and to raid the shops), I'm already planning out all my wishlists. I am really excited for World Duty Free at Heathrow as I've never properly looked in it before, but I hope there are some good deals!

Urban Decay Naked Palette

As gorgeous as the Naked 2 and 3 palette's are, I just love this one that little bit more. It has a perfect range of warm, neautral shades and is very, very versatile. I have been lusting after this palette for what seems like forever and I think that Duty Free is the perfect place to pick it up as it's discounted, who doesn't love a saving?

Victoria's Secret Body Spray

This is the one item that I'm not entirely sure I'll be able to pick up in Heathrow but my friend was there once and picked up one of the many scents for around £4 something, so I'm hoping I can get one! I haven't chosen what scent I'd like yet as unfortunately you can't smell through computer screens (maybe one day).

MAC Lipstick in Fanfare

A MAC lipstick. Shock horror, I've never owned one before but I'm hoping to pick up one (or two). The shade I really want is Fanfare as it's a gorgeous 'your lips but better' shade and I really don't have enough nudey/pink shades. Knowing me though, I'll buy more than one. I can feel my purse crying after this trip to Italy.

This was a very short (hopefully sweet) post but I promise next week's beauty post will be more exciting! I have a Kiko wishlist coming up soon so if you have any recommendations for Kiko that I could add to my list, please do let me know! Also any MAC products suggestions are very welcome too!
I hope you've all had a good week so far, you can make it to Friday!

Mini MUA Haul

I may have accidentally on purpose gone shopping in Superdrug yesterday, but I was good and I controlled the urge to buy everything I saw *pats back*.

I only picked up 3 things which is pretty good for me *gives self another pat on the back*.

The first thing I picked up, after 7 months of waiting for it to be restocked in my local Superdrug, was the Heaven and Earth Palette.

I have spent so long trying to track down this palette. Whenever I've gone into one of the two stores near me or online, it's always been out of stock *cries* but I FINALLY got it *cheers*!

If you're a neutral palette lover then this palette is for you. All shades are shimmery and you can create really nice daytime and nightime looks with this palette. I'm so glad I've finally got it! I'll put up a full review with swatches very soon!

As with all MUA palettes, this one came with one of the pointless sponge applicators, but I just bin these so I'm not going to complain too much! For £4 this palette is an absolute steal and the 7 months of searching was definitely worth it!

The next item probably won't come as any surprise to anyone who's been reading my blog for a while. I have a weird obsession with berry lipsticks, I now have 3 in almost the same shade, why?

And the lipstick I'm talking about is the MUA matte lipstick in 'Wild Berry'. In the tube this looks very similar to my beloved Kate Moss lipstick in '107'. But when on the lips it's a more sheer version of it, which is good because it means I can wear berry tinted lips to school (yaaaay!).

If you want to see this on my lips, I'll be putting up a post on Wednesday with this on my lips so keep your eyes peeled for that.  I wasn't expecting great pigmentation because it was only £1 but I'm actually quite impressed! An added bonus with this lipstick is that, like all MUA lipsticks, it comes with a little pot of product at the bottom which is both handy and cute.

The final thing I got was actually free because there was a deal that if you spent £6 or more on MUA makeup then you get a free ColourBlast eye crayon. I got the free crayon because my granny also bought a lipstick.

The colour I chose was 'Unfaithful' which is a grey with silver shimmer running through it. I chose it because I don't really own any greyish eyeshadows and thought I'd step out of my comfort zone a bit.

This would make a great base colour for a smokey eye and I'm looking forward to using it but if it isn't as good as I hope it is, I won't be too bothered because it was free after all!

That is all for my mini haul (I should be a poet), I'm now away out for a Sunday carvery with my family! I hope you've all had a great weekend!
Also just before I sign off, could you all please go and fill in this quick survey, it would be really fab!
